Ingredients: cacao butter, evaporated coconut nectar, cashew nut, dried coconut flesh, vanilla pod.

This isn’t completely inedible, and if you really like coconut you might enjoy it, but the flavour and texture are disappointing.

This bar is only 30g, which I somehow overlooked when I was purchasing it. The packaging in the photo makes it look like a large style bar, but in fact it is a very small one inside the packaging. The packet it is in is made of a thick paper, and feels very nice in the hands. I thought maybe this was to reduce single use plastics, but inside it is the bar inside a plastic packet.

I’m not a huge fan of coconut, but “white caramel chocolate” persuaded me to try this. I was disappointed. The taste is overwhelmingly coconut, and I haven’t managed to get any taste of caramel or chocolate out of it. Caramel is one of my favourite flavours, and I also like vanilla, so I was disappointed that neither of those were at all present in this.

The texture is unpleasant. It doesn’t have the dryness of a chocolate and is instead soft and slightly slimy. Biting into it my teeth just slip through it without any crack or crunch. There is nothing reminiscent of chocolate in this at all, just the soft cashew-coconut. In the mouth it melts to a thick goo without having any of the richness of flavour that a chocolate has.

If you like your chocolate soft and squishy, with no chocolate taste but lots of coconut you might enjoy this. If not, don’t bother.
